COUNCIL HISTORY

The name of the street you live on is, in part, thanks to the Community Council! Local bus service, ferry dock repairs, cessation of illegal developments as well as the current Town Plan and many other Island needs and concerns that involved interaction with governmental officials have been the focus of the Community Council since 1933, with a break from 2010 until 2020. This public forum has always encouraged all voices to be heard and considered.

Currently, we are organized as a 501(c)4 organization, which gives our council permission to conduct unlimited issue advocacy for the public good.  Learn more here.
