Board Elections for 2027-2028 Term
Every two years, V-MCC elects up to eight Board members. The newly elected Board may appoint up to four additional directors.
Seven Vashon-Maury community members are running for the upcoming board term.

Board Member Expectations
At a minimum, directors are expected to:

Attend Board meetings on the first Thursday of each month, either in person or via Zoom.

Attend Council meetings on the third Thursday of each month, either in person or via Zoom.

Be responsive to Board-related email.

Support one of V-MCC’s thirteen sectors as a Board member, or serve as a sector liaison who helps amplify islanders’ voices and encourages participation.

Elections Process and Timeline
October 15. Candidates will introduce themselves at the Council meeting at Vashon Presbyterian Church.
October 20. The election is open. Ballots are sent electronically to members through a company called Election Buddy, which sends each member a unique code. If you need to use a paper ballot, please obtain one at the Vashon Library.
November 2. The election is closed, ballots are due.
November 5. The board is notified of election results.
November 19. The new board members are announced at the Annual Council Meeting.
